A compact version of the species, this evergreen, suckering, perennial shrub has reddish-bronze new growth maturing into holly-like, dark green leaves. Yellow flowers in spring are followed by clusters of blue, grape-like fruit. The flowers have nectar for hummingbirds and fruits are eaten by birds.
