A compact cultivar of Arbutus unedo that flowers and fruits freely when young. This evergreen shrub or small tree has dark green, glossy leaves and white, bell-shaped flowers in autumn followed by mature red and young yellow fruits which are spherical and warty. Naturally adapted to dry summers, but able to grow well in cool wet summers as well, it has become a very popular garden specimen on the west coast. Best planted in a sheltered position due to its late flowering habit.
