A perennial, evergreen, riparian rush occuring in wet spots in the oak woodland. Medium green stems are 1/8-1/4-inch thick; erect at first, they arch somewhat towards the tips. Stems turn brown with frost. Prefers shallow, sandy soils that load up in winter and spring with water. Very stable and easy to grow.
