A native conifer ranging in height from 90 to 100-feet. It is long-lived; some trees have lived in excess of 600 years. Its bark is thin. The branches are short and finely subdivided into branchlets of small diameter. Needles are from 1 to 2.5-inches long and occur in fascicles of two. The cones are 1.5 to 2.5-inches in length, and often occur in clusters.
